I've put a lot of work into this, and feel that people with laugh at the purposeful corniness, but not understand that it was added to make the movie what it is...a Minecraft movie. The production has taken a lot out of me, yet I can't wait to work on other things, including a possible sequel when I release it on my Youtube channel tonight. The composer says he is wrapping up the score, and should have it to me any hour now. Once this occurs I will add the music to the video/audio, and it will all come together nicely. I hope this score turns out well. Antonio is yet to have let me down so far with his scoring of Flesh Candy Episode 1 and 2.

Call me a bastard for saying this, but I am a little skeptical as far as the view count goes. If this doesn't make many views, I feel I would have wasted my time and resources in a big way. Please help me get this big, send it to all your online friends! As far as viewcount goes, I'm aiming for 10 million, but what I can imagine, realistically, is 100,000. If the video reaches 100,000 views or more, I will be satisfied. Over time I hope this becomes an icon of Machinima in Minecraft, because I feel this is going to be up there as one of the best (not to be cocky of course.). As always I'm just a bit excited, anxiety is kicking in.

Keeping you up to speed, all the best.

Flesh Candy Episode 3: Editing

Episode 3 is on the move. After a long wait for the last set of lines from one of my voice actors, I now have received all the lines for episode 3. Now, all I have to do is film and edit the episode, ship it off to Antonio to get scored, and we're good to go. This ones going to be a bit trickier to edit well, seeing how I need to do something to make this interesting. This episode is almost all talking, so I don't know how I'm really going to pull this off, but I'm sure I'll do it somehow. Minecraft is one of the best machinima engines, as far as creativity, and fun goes. I am very surprised that people have not been utilizing this awesome tool. Starting with my "Herobrine" film will be a long listing of Minecraft videos that will be coming from none other than NewScape Productions. I have several films planned out that I am not able to disclose information about at this point in time. This is due to the fact that they are still in the development stages, but I assure all, they will not disappoint.

I plan to make a short film in Minecraft after this longer film "Herobrine" is released. After that I am not sure as to what I will make. The possibilities are endless. Minecraft is a great engine for machinima in an abundant amount of forms. The only part of Minecraft that makes machinima a no-go is the death sequence. When a player dies in Minecraft, they simply poof into smoke. If the characters were to at least fall on the ground, this engine would be spot-on perfect for machinima purposes. Unfortunately I do not expect this being changed in some update during the future. I mean, look at Halo 3, after years of hundreds of machinima directors begging for guns to lower online...well, to no avail.

Without a doubt, once my film is released, I expect a growth in the utilization of Minecraft machinima (versus gameplay on the contrary) though do not expect as much as one would hope for. Then again, there are no guarantees on my video being revolutionary, or a game changer. If this film succeeds though, I may find myself making more and more Minecraft videos, along with others, doing likewise. For example, the Youtube community only had a "100 Ways to Die in Halo 3", and a "100 Ways to Die in Garys Mod" before I made 100 Ways to Die in Modern Warfare 2. Now all sorts of directors are making 25/100 Ways to Die videos because of the large success of the first three. I as well noted the success of 100 Ways to Die in MW2 and made a 100 Ways to Die in Reach. Then again, I hope I get some credit for my work, and am not cast out by all the competition...then again, I'm going ahead of myself.

I'm excited for what will come out of this whole project. I look forward to seeing everyone's reactions to the film, and will be reading most, if not all the comments.

Flesh Candy 3 Progress

I know you've been waiting, gosh! Flesh Candy Episode 3 is on the way. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about it. Flesh Candy is and for some time will be my main priority. Let me just give you readers the sneak peek since you have been waiting so patiently. This episode is about 10 minutes long, and is more story based then action based. So all the episode 2 fans who thought episode 1 was boring, may just not want to watch this period. All you people that liked Casablanca instead of Transformers 2, may want to give this a look.

As a director, I'm really trying to develop the three main characters, Leon, Mac, and Vigil. Leon is supposed to be a leader, very confident in his capabilities, but sometimes too confident. He is nearly heartless, and can be a real bastard sometimes. Mac on the other hand cares about humanity, and has faith that if everyone comes together, the outbreak can find some solution. Vigil is a strong follower of whatever Leon says. He isn't a leader, but listens well to instructions, though at times can be a coward. Next time you watch an episode, try to picture these traits and compare them to the characters. I want to see if I succeeded or not.

More info: I am not sure how long I want this series going for, or if it will be put on hold during the fall or not, but I will assure everyone, season one will be finished (unlike most of my other series.). I don't plan on getting too far ahead of myself. I am more focused on finishing season one, as compared to how long the series will be going on for.

As of now, for Episode 3, I have sent out the script to all the voice actors. I have so far received lines from James Murgatroyd (Leon), River Kanoff (Howe), and hopefully will soon receive lines from Gabriel Wolf (Mac). I am still not sure of when Patrick Seymour (Vigil) will be getting me his lines though. I have sent him an email recently about it and will find out soon. I'll keep you all posted.

"Herobrine": The Film

"Herobrine" follows the story of a five-man team that are sent to a new continent in order to find Obsidian. When the group arrives, they find that all is not as it seems. The team has to work together if they want to survive, and make it off the island alive.

I started writing the script for this new film about a week ago. I was showing a friend of mine a Herobrine video on Youtube, when it inspired me to make a horror film about it. I thought to myself, with Minecraft such an interesting, and fun engine to make Machinima on, why hadn't someone done this already? It took me a week or two to finish the script, and then I had to find a server to use. A friend of mine, Evan, uses a server that is Survival. So I assumed it wouldn't work well. I decided to ask my Youtube Channel for help. I put out a video asking for help. I had a couple people ask me if I would like to use there server, which surprised me. I decided to go with a subscriber, Jonah's server. It worked very well. At the start it wasn't even running on Bukkit, two days later and it is fully equipt with super pick axe, all sorts of Bukkit abilities, and I as well had gotten Fly Mod, and Too Many Items. With all the mods, and abilities, it made making a film much easier then I had originally expected, but I digress.

I created a video asking if people would like to help, and to add my Skype if they were interested. To my dismay I had received over 30 contact requests in about an hour. The night before I had already gone about making over ten skins for each character in the film. By the afternoon on the 25th, I had already received an abundant supply of body actors, an awesome server to use, all skins, and a fully written script. Next thing to do was start writing.

I started filming as soon as I got on the server. It began with just Jonah, Zach (A friend of mine), and myself, creating the town at the beginning of the movie. When we had finished creating it after a couple hours of building, I Photoshopped a scene of the mine cart entering town. I thought it looked nice, surprisingly, so I decided to keep it. The next session of filming took place with the first couple of actors who added me on Skype. Jonah, and Kevin KRW were willing to act out the second scene of the movie. This continued until late afternoon on the 25th when I decided to stop at about half way through the haunted town scene. This being a surprising amount of footage, I continued in the same routine on the 26th. When I woke up, I would invite the first actors I saw online until I had enough to shoot the scene. On the 26th, I finished the town scene, and worked on a lot of the sets with Jonah. We finished almost all of them, working until the 27th, at 2:00 in the morning. Finally, today, the 27th. I finished filming up to the first death scene. It all went very well, and I had lots of actors available. We filmed until I thought I was getting too tired and slacking. I was really happy with most of the shots.

When I finished filming, I began looking for voice actors to play the roles of the characters in the film. I am having some trouble finding them, but then again, I just began searching. I am hoping to only use 5-6 voice actors for the entire film that has about 10 characters. I like keeping a tight cast so that when I can begin editing when I get the first batch of lines.
